Insight
Last year I stood atop the podium as the 2025 150-Mile Champion of Gravel Worlds… in the 35-39 year old female category.
Pretty impressive, right?
Well… there were only 2 or 3 people in the division.
BUT Gravel Worlds has thousands of people racing that weekend- and there plenty of other women who chose the 35-mile and 75-mile options.
The reality is, there just aren’t that many women who want to race their bikes 150 miles.
So I showed up and did something hard.
Something a lot of other people were too intimidated to do.
And I won.
Sure, I only beat the handful of other women in my category.
But I beat EVERYBODY who didn’t show up.
The whole point of this little story is- you have to play to win.
You have to show up.
You have to do something that other people are afraid to do.
You have to take the chance, sign up for the race, put yourself out there, go after the opportunity.
You have to do the thing that seems impossible- because it’s true what they say, the extra mile (or miles in this case) isn't that crowded.
Question
What opportunity are you missing because you're afraid to put yourself out there?
